Big Onion Lower East Side Multi-Ethnic Eating Tour

October 13 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$35 - $40

Saturday, October 13

NYC – Lower East Side – 2:00 – 4:00 followed by optional gathering at La Mela Ristorante

This Big Onion walking tour combines the history of the Lower East Side with a series of “noshing” stops from local shops and markets. Our expert guide will explore the history of this multi-ethnic area with an emphasis on the neighborhoods of the Jewish East Side, Little Italy and Chinatown.
During our walk we will sample about 10 different items. Most of these items are dairy or vegetarian.

All food sampling will be done outdoors rather than inside any restaurants. Food stops could include:
handmade mozzarella, bialys, Malaysian beef jerky, sour pickles, and plantains…among other items!
Please email info@bigonion.com before the tour with any questions about allergens.

Meeting location: Southwest corner of Delancey and Essex Streets, in front of the Chase Bank.

Tour time: 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. We end on the corner of Mulberry and Canal Streets.
After Tour Gathering: Tour participants will meet at La Mela Ristorante, 167 Mulberry Street in Little Italy to rest their feet and enjoy “on your own” beverages and food.

Cost: $35 dollars for MCSC members and $40 dollars for non-members. This includes the tour fee, food samples and tip for the guide.

Sign-up can’t be accepted without payment. Please send your completed form and check payable to
the Morris County Ski Club to our event leader: JoAnn / Email: jp@pietrolawfirm.com
