Jersey Cares Day – Earth Keepers project

May 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Let’s show MCSC cares by volunteering for Jersey Cares Day!

This year, Jersey Cares Day projects are taking place in Newark and Jersey City.  We’ll be participating in the Earth Keepers project at Branch Brook Park!

The first county park open to the public in the United States, famous for its large collection of cherry blossom trees and on the National Register of Historic Places, local treasure Essex County Branch Brook Park needs us! We’ll work directly with trained Rutgers Master Gardeners on behalf of Care of The Park at Essex County Branch Brook Park, helping to: prune and groom plants, remove invasive species, plant native plants, create / maintain restoration projects and maintain historic trails. After a busy, productive morning in the park, for those interested, we’ll re-group and head out for optional lunch & refreshments !

To sign up, please contact Janet via email:  mjeasterling@earthlink.net

Jersey Cares, a nonprofit organization established in 1993, recruits and engages volunteers in rewarding, effective efforts that address community-identified needs.  They partner with local nonprofits to identify needs and implement volunteer projects to meet those needs.  For the Jersey Cares Day Serve-A-Thon, approximately 1,000 volunteers come together for a day of true partnership and community building.
