DESCRIPTION:Ramapo County Reservation\nMahwah\, NJ\nDate: Saturday\, October 25\, 2025\nTime: 10:00 AM\n  \nMeeting Location: 608 Ramapo Valley Road\, Mahwah NJ \nDifficulty: Moderate  \nHike distance: 5 to 6 miles \nTime: About 3.5 hours to 4 hours \n  \nDescription: A moderate 5-to-6-mile hike in Ramapo County reservation. There is a significant climb early in the hike and a more moderate climb around the midway point. The hike will visit the 4 viewpoints on the Vista trail and pass by a waterfall towards the end of the hike. \n  \nImportant Notes for the hike: \n  \n\nHiking boots are recommended.\nDaypack to carry extra clothing\, sufficient water and your snack.\nBring Insect repellent.  \nThere are porta-a-pottys at the hike location.  There are also indoor restrooms which are usually open. \nThis is a county park so it will not be impacted by the Federal shut down\nThe visitor’s center is about a 35-minute ride from the VFW meeting location.\nAfter the hike we may go to a nearby bar and grill.\n\n  \nFor more information\, please contact Paul Van Duyne C (201) 470-9317. \nEmail:  p_vanduyne@yahoo.com.  Advanced sign up by e-mail is not required is appreciated.   \nYou can also sign-up on the Meet-up site. \nTo contact Paul the day of the hike with any other questions (201) 470-9317.
