DESCRIPTION:MORRIS COUNTY SKI CLUB    \n  SPRING BIKE WEEKEND \n  Cooperstown NY – MAY 1-3\, 2026  \nLodging – Hampton Inn 4882 State Highway 28 Cooperstown New York. Rooms contain 2 queen beds with a microwave and fridge.  Amenities at this newly built hotel include daily breakfast\, fitness center\, and pool.   The hotel is 3.5 miles from downtown Cooperstown and the Council Rock Brewery is across the street. \nBiking – One  organized ride is being planned.  The tentative route will be around Lake Otsego.  The total distance for the ride is about 28 miles from the hotel and 22 miles from downtown Cooperstown. \nCooperstown The most famous attraction in Cooperstown is the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.  Cooperstown is home to a variety of breweries\, wineries\, and a historic cider mill. DESCRIPTION:We have been asked by the Friends of Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge to repeat our annual roadside clean-up scheduled this year on Saturday\, April 25\, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. \nBelow is the link to the start location at the Helen Fenske Visitor Center\, 32 Pleasant Plains Rd. Basking Ridge\, 07920. \nFor those who are new to this adventure\, we meet at the Visitor Center and organize into 6 groups\, each of which is assigned to a portion of the roads surrounding the Swamp. We are provided with tools\, trash bags and reflective vests by the Refuge.  Volunteers should wear long pants\, long-sleeved shirts\, waterproof boots and gardening gloves.\nRefuge personnel periodically pick up filled bags along the roadside as we work.  We meet at the end for a group photo in front of the [piles of] filled trash bags. \nPlease contact Jodi at jodileealper@gmail.com if you are available to volunteer with us and provide her with your email address\, phone number and month/year of birth (for completion of the government forms). \nThank you for considering being part of this effort to protect our precious resource. We will be participating in the building of two single family homes. As you can see from the photos above taken February 5th the houses are up and enclosed.  Our build day may include site work if it is a warm spring day or interior trim work if it is nasty out.  Please dress for the weather. \nI have made arrangements for the snow in these photos to be removed in time for our day.  The date is open to 10 workers.  Building experience is not required. \nMorris Habitat will provide us with: hard hats\, goggles\, gloves and basic tools\, or you may bring any of your own personal items if you prefer. If you bring your own tools\, please label them with your name. \nYour build leaders will provide pizza or sandwiches for lunch.  When the work is done\, the group often convenes for snacks and libations at a watering hole to be named later.  Build leader often provides the first round. SUMMARY:Ski Weekend at High Life Lodge in Vermont
DESCRIPTION:MCSC Ski Weekend in VT!  \nThursday 3/26/26 to Sunday 3/29/26 at the High Life Ski Club Lodge \nJoin MCSC for another fun filled ski weekend at the High Life Lodge* in Chittenden\, VT. Address: 127 Chittenden Rd.\, Chittenden\, VT 05701-9814.  The lodge is located 15-20 minutes from Killington/Pico ski areas and about an hour from Sugarbush (all on the IKON pass) \nCost is $200 for the extended weekend.  This includes overnight accommodations for three nights as well as one catered meal and cleaning services (no chores to do!) \nThere are 12 available spots going on sale at the December 9th MCSC meeting and these will only be on sale until March 15 (or while still available beforehand). \nMake checks out to Donna Long (NOT MCSC) and give them to Tony Tarullo\, Donna Long or Glenn Kunstle at the meetings.  \nAfter the December 9th meeting\, checks for $200 can also be mailed to Donna Long at 211 Kingsland Rd Landing\, NJ 07850. \n*Please note that beds are in multiple configurations (couples’ rooms as well as bunk bed rooms with 4 to 6 bunk beds each.) Bring your own bedding (sleeping bag or sheets\, blanket and pillow) and bathroom necessities (own towels\, soap\, shampoo and other toiletries). Food and/or drinks can be brought and stored in the lodge kitchen area (glasses\, plates\, pots/pans\, kitchenware\, etc. are all available for group use). Coffee and tea are also provided by the High Life Ski Club. Members and guests are required to clean up after themselves in the kitchen. SUMMARY:Ski Trip - Superbowl Weekend at Lake Placid\, NY
DESCRIPTION:February 6th to 9th\, 2026 \nJoin the Morris County Ski Club as we spend Super Bowl weekend (and the opening weekend of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan) at the site of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid\, NY.  \nThis self-drive/carpool trip will be three-night trip held from Friday\, February 6th through Monday\, February 9th 2026 to ski Whiteface (and Gore?) Mountain.  \nCost: $820 MCSC members\, $850 nonmembers \nThe trip includes: 3-night stay at 4 star hotel with continental breakfasts daily\, lift tickets for 3 days of skiing (at either Whiteface or Gore) and Super Bowl party on Sunday night \nLake Placid features a wealth of winter activities from ice skating\, bobsled and luge rides\, snowshoeing\, cross-country skiing and dog sledding. There are many great restaurants\, bars and shops in town. SUMMARY:Ski Weekend at Swiss Ski Club Lodge in Waitsfield Vermont
DESCRIPTION:Thursday January 29 to Sunday February 1 \nThe Swiss Ski Club of NY has graciously opened their ski lodge in Waitsfield\, Vermont (171 Elkhorn Road) to MCSC members for an extended weekend this season. The lodge is located 5 minutes from Sugarbush (an IKON pass resort)\,15 minutes from Mad River Glen\, and about an hour from Stowe Mountain (an EPIC pass resort). \nThe $180 weekend cost (plus $10.80 booking service fee) covers 3 nights’ lodging but does not include food or lift tickets. \nFood for the weekend will be purchased by the Swiss Ski Club weekend coordinator (likely Knut Lundberg) for all attendees so that meals (breakfast and dinner) can be prepared in the lodge kitchen area daily. Attendees are expected to contribute equally towards the cost of food for the group. \nMembers and guests will also be required to handle a small chore during the weekend (to foster their idea of ski club community). \nPlease note that bedrooms in the lodge have bunk beds (with no more than 4 beds in any room). DESCRIPTION:Please join MCSC as we venture to the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark for their 53rd annual Christmas concert/carol sing along on Wednesday 12/17 at 8 pm. \nThe ambiance and seasonal decor\, along with the Cathedral choir\, organ\, instrumentalists\, and thousands of participants\ncombine to create an event not to be missed. \nIf you have never been to the Cathedral\, it is worth the\ntrip.
