DESCRIPTION:MCSC Ski Weekend in VT!  \nThursday 3/26/26 to Sunday 3/29/26 at the High Life Ski Club Lodge \nJoin MCSC for another fun filled ski weekend at the High Life Lodge* in Chittenden\, VT. Address: 127 Chittenden Rd.\, Chittenden\, VT 05701-9814.  The lodge is located 15-20 minutes from Killington/Pico ski areas and about an hour from Sugarbush (all on the IKON pass) \nCost is $200 for the extended weekend.  This includes overnight accommodations for three nights as well as one catered meal and cleaning services (no chores to do!) \nThere are 12 available spots going on sale at the December 9th MCSC meeting and these will only be on sale until March 15 (or while still available beforehand). \nMake checks out to Donna Long (NOT MCSC) and give them to Tony Tarullo\, Donna Long or Glenn Kunstle at the meetings.  \nAfter the December 9th meeting\, checks for $200 can also be mailed to Donna Long at 211 Kingsland Rd Landing\, NJ 07850. \n*Please note that beds are in multiple configurations (couples’ rooms as well as bunk bed rooms with 4 to 6 bunk beds each.) We will be participating in the building of two single family homes. As you can see from the photos above taken February 5th the houses are up and enclosed.  Our build day may include site work if it is a warm spring day or interior trim work if it is nasty out.  Please dress for the weather. \nI have made arrangements for the snow in these photos to be removed in time for our day.  The date is open to 10 workers.  Building experience is not required. \nMorris Habitat will provide us with: hard hats\, goggles\, gloves and basic tools\, or you may bring any of your own personal items if you prefer. If you bring your own tools\, please label them with your name. \nYour build leaders will provide pizza or sandwiches for lunch.  When the work is done\, the group often convenes for snacks and libations at a watering hole to be named later.  Build leader often provides the first round. Basking Ridge\, 07920. \nFor those who are new to this adventure\, we meet at the Visitor Center and organize into 6 groups\, each of which is assigned to a portion of the roads surrounding the Swamp. We are provided with tools\, trash bags and reflective vests by the Refuge.  Volunteers should wear long pants\, long-sleeved shirts\, waterproof boots and gardening gloves.\nRefuge personnel periodically pick up filled bags along the roadside as we work.  We meet at the end for a group photo in front of the [piles of] filled trash bags. \nPlease contact Jodi at jodileealper@gmail.com if you are available to volunteer with us and provide her with your email address\, phone number and month/year of birth (for completion of the government forms). \nThank you for considering being part of this effort to protect our precious resource. DESCRIPTION:MORRIS COUNTY SKI CLUB    \n  SPRING BIKE WEEKEND \n  Cooperstown NY – MAY 1-3\, 2026  \nLodging – Hampton Inn 4882 State Highway 28 Cooperstown New York. Rooms contain 2 queen beds with a microwave and fridge.  Amenities at this newly built hotel include daily breakfast\, fitness center\, and pool.   The hotel is 3.5 miles from downtown Cooperstown and the Council Rock Brewery is across the street. \nBiking – One  organized ride is being planned.  The tentative route will be around Lake Otsego.  The total distance for the ride is about 28 miles from the hotel and 22 miles from downtown Cooperstown. \nCooperstown The most famous attraction in Cooperstown is the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.  Cooperstown is home to a variety of breweries\, wineries\, and a historic cider mill. There is a golf course in Cooperstown and nearby is Glimmerglass State Park. \nCost – Members cost is $190 pp\, non-member cost is $200. SUMMARY:Kayaking on the Delaware River - Reber River Trips
DESCRIPTION:total time will be dependent upon the weather and water conditions that day.  There will be a few stretches of relatively easy whitewater to kayak through. We will stop about halfway along the trip for lunch\, swimming and photography.  We will finish our day with food and drinks at a local establishment. \n  \nThe cost for members is $65 for members and $70 for non-members \nIncluded with the cost are kayaks\, paddles\, life jackets\, local transportation (courtesy of Reber River Trips – www.reberrivertrips.com (1-845-557-3332) and lots of fun. \n  \nYou will need to bring \n\nSwim wear and a change of clothes.  You will get wet.\nOld sneakers\, river sandals\, or water sneakers/shoes for kayaking. Flip flops\, or open back shoes are not recommended.\nSunscreen and sunglasses.\nA small cooler containing your lunch packed in zip lock bags\nBungee cords for securing your cooler to the kayak\nNO GLASS containers on the river\,\nNo previous kayak experience is necessary\, but you should be comfortable around water.\n\n  \nDirections from Morristown area \nRoute 287 North to exit 52 Route 23 North past High Point and into Port Jervis.  At Port Jervis\, take Route 6 West to 97N for 18 miles.  Reber River Trips is on the left-hand side of Route 97 adjacent to the River’s Edge Restaurant and Motel. This is at the junction of Route 97 and Route 55. \n  \nAn alternative is Route 80 West to Route 15 North.  Take Route 15 North to Route 206 North across the Delaware River.  In the town of Milford Pa turn right on to Route 209 North and take this Road to Route 97 in Port Jervis.  Take Route 97 North to Reber River Trips located adjacent to the River’s Edge Restaurant. SUMMARY:Horse Racing - A Day At Monmouth Park with the Central Jersey Ski Club
DESCRIPTION:Saturday August 15 from Noon to 5 PM \n  \nMeet us Monmouth Park as we join with the Central Jersey Ski Club for a Day at the Races during their Surf & Turf Festival – Hosted by Tony Tarullo (MCSC) and Susan Shamlian (CJSC) \nMonmouth Race Park – 175 Oceanport Ave Oceanport (follow signs for picnic/cooler area parking) \n$7 admission to the racetrack covers entrance to the picnic area where we will eat\, drink and watch (and bet on) the horse races. \nFeel free to bring your own food and drinks (coolers allowed) into the picnic area or choose to buy food/drinks at Monmouth Park as they will feature food trucks associated with their surf and turf theme. And although we will be looking to hold seating at picnic tables for the group\, portable/folding chairs are also a good idea. \nFeel free to arrive any time after noon that day with racing expected to start shortly before 1PM. \nWhen you enter the picnic area look for the MCSC / Central Jersey Ski Club picnic table area.
