SUMMARY:Horse Racing - A Day At Monmouth Park with the Central Jersey Ski Club
DESCRIPTION:Saturday August 15 from Noon to 5 PM \n  \nMeet us Monmouth Park as we join with the Central Jersey Ski Club for a Day at the Races during their Surf & Turf Festival – Hosted by Tony Tarullo (MCSC) and Susan Shamlian (CJSC) \nMonmouth Race Park – 175 Oceanport Ave Oceanport (follow signs for picnic/cooler area parking) \n$7 admission to the racetrack covers entrance to the picnic area where we will eat\, drink and watch (and bet on) the horse races. \nFeel free to bring your own food and drinks (coolers allowed) into the picnic area or choose to buy food/drinks at Monmouth Park as they will feature food trucks associated with their surf and turf theme. And although we will be looking to hold seating at picnic tables for the group\, portable/folding chairs are also a good idea. \nFeel free to arrive any time after noon that day with racing expected to start shortly before 1PM. \nWhen you enter the picnic area look for the MCSC / Central Jersey Ski Club picnic table area. Please come join us on Thursday\, August 20\, 2026 for an AAF on Lake Hopatcong. \nHappy Hour starts when you can get there! Enjoy some drinks overlooking the lake and outside dining area. The Jefferson House has a full menu for anyone who wishes to dine there. We will meet at the bar outside. There will be live music for our entertainment. \n“The Jefferson House Restaurant has been an important dining and entertainment attraction on the lake since its construction in 1926.” \n2026.08.20 – AAF –*There is a parking lot at the restaurant as well but it can get crowded. You might want to consider carpooling if possible. \n  \nPlease contact Lisa at LisaSLP@aol.com with any questions/concerns. \nDirections \nTraveling West on Route 80: Exit 34-B (Sparta-Jefferson)\, At (3) third stop light after exit from Rt. 80 (at Shell sta.) exit right.  At end of exit ramp make a left. Pull up to stop light.  Go straight through both stop lights (Rt. 15 north and south).  Continue on the road (Berkshire Valley Rd.) for about 1 mile.  Make a right turn (onto Minnisink Rd.) and follow this road to the stop sign.  Proceed straight ahead for 1/4 mile.  Make a very sharp left onto Nolans Point Rd. and follow it to Lake Hopatcong and the Jefferson House. \nTraveling East on Route 80: Exit 30 (Mount Arlington) At the end of the exit ramp turn left (driving under the Rt. 80 overpass) onto Howard Blvd.  Continue on this road for 4.1 miles.  Make a very sharp left turn onto Nolans Point Rd. and follow the road to Lake Hopatcong and the Jefferson House.
