Kayaking on the Delaware River – Reber River Trips
total time will be dependent upon the weather and water conditions that day. There will be a few stretches of relatively easy whitewater to kayak through. We will stop about halfway along the trip for lunch, swimming and photography. We will finish our day with food and drinks at a local establishment.
The cost for members is $65 for members and $70 for non-members
Included with the cost are kayaks, paddles, life jackets, local transportation (courtesy of Reber River Trips – www.reberrivertrips.com (1-845-557-3332) and lots of fun.
You will need to bring
- Swim wear and a change of clothes. You will get wet.
- Old sneakers, river sandals, or water sneakers/shoes for kayaking. Flip flops, or open back shoes are not recommended.
- Sunscreen and sunglasses.
- A small cooler containing your lunch packed in zip lock bags
- Bungee cords for securing your cooler to the kayak
- NO GLASS containers on the river,
- No previous kayak experience is necessary, but you should be comfortable around water.
Directions from Morristown area
Route 287 North to exit 52 Route 23 North past High Point and into Port Jervis. At Port Jervis, take Route 6 West to 97N for 18 miles. Reber River Trips is on the left-hand side of Route 97 adjacent to the River’s Edge Restaurant and Motel. This is at the junction of Route 97 and Route 55.
An alternative is Route 80 West to Route 15 North. Take Route 15 North to Route 206 North across the Delaware River. In the town of Milford Pa turn right on to Route 209 North and take this Road to Route 97 in Port Jervis. Take Route 97 North to Reber River Trips located adjacent to the River’s Edge Restaurant. Located at the intersection of Route 97 and Route 55.
